Instructions

  1. 1. Drain and rinse the soaked rajma.
  2. 2. In a pressure cooker, add the rajma with enough water and cook for 5-6 whistles or until soft.
  3. 3. Heat oil in a pan and add cumin seeds. Let them splutter.
  4. 4. Add finely chopped onions and sauté until golden brown.
  5. 5. Add ginger-garlic paste and sauté for another minute.
  6. 6. Add chopped tomatoes and cook until they turn soft.
  7. 7. Add coriander powder, garam masala, turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Stir well.
  8. 8. Add the cooked rajma along with some of the cooking liquid. Simmer for 15-20 minutes.
  9. 9. Adjust the consistency with water if needed and cook for another 5 minutes.
  10. 10. Garnish with coriander leaves before serving.
